Sometimes it takes a little while
Bridget and Schalk have an interesting story. Two years ago Schalk sent an e-mail to Bridget over RSVP. She read it, thought he was cute, responded and waited to see where it went. He asked her out for a drink, but Bridget was one of those people who waited a few weeks before she met someone.
He started dating someone else weeks later, but they always stayed in contact. They continued to talk on the phone and over e-mail. The relationship with the other girl didn't work out. So he asked Bridget out again. Her response 'It doesn't work that way. You don't break up with someone and then ask me out again.' It continued to be a running joke. She said he could wait.
For almost a year they continued to chat on the phone and catch up on each others lives over the internet... Until one day Bridget invited him over for a glass of wine.
And that's all they did. Had a glass of wine, a chat and he went home. They organised to have dinner at his place the next weekend. But from that weekend they haven't spent more than 2 nights away from each other.
That was one year ago.
They are now engaged and disgustingly in love.
Sometimes it takes a little while to find someone you really connect with. But in the end, it's totally worth it.
